As a U.S. Army veteran, Chanel Lamb brings passion to the veteran community.  She served from 1996-2002 as a 75H in the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment and the 501st Military Intelligence Battalion.  While serving in the 3rd ACR on Fort Carson, Colorado she was inducted into the Order of the Spur after successfully completing a "Spur Ride”. She won a number of Military Boards, which allowed her to promote from E-1 to E-5 in just two and a half years.  Her last duty station was in Dexheim, Germany as a Personnel Sergeant. Currently, Chanel is a Human Resources Director at ViacomCBS.

Maya Angelou applied to join the Women’s Army Corps however, her application was rejected because of her involvement in the California Labor School, which was said to have Communist ties.  Maya Angelou devoted her life to being a tireless voice for women and black people.  In 2010 she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barak Obama.”
