John was a VP on our Talent Acquisition team focused on the tech space. He joined Viacom six years ago and prior to that he worked in media companies, had served in the Air Force, and was even a stand-up comedian. John was loved by everyone. Many referred to John as the ‘mayor’; if you ever walked down the hall with him you'd know why. He knew everyone. Whether you knew John five minutes or twenty years, he had the unique ability to make you feel like an old friend who you could share anything with. He cared deeply for people, and their success and happiness. His compassion made him an irreplaceable manager and peer. 
 
The most important thing to John was his family – he was so proud of his son, Karis, and daughter, Jesse, and always shared the great things they were doing and of their bright futures. 
 
John lived life to the fullest and had lasting friendships from all the different adventures of his life.  He brought his love for life, positive energy, and great sense of humor everywhere he went. While he will be tremendously missed by many heartbroken friends and co-workers, those who knew him will proudly and fondly carry his memory forward.
