Melanie Corinne

Social Media Strategist, ViacomCBS Veterans Network

Melanie Corinne is a New York native, and a writer. She is passionate about mindful storytelling and meaningful representation in art and literature. In 2018 she won the Fordham English Department Golden Gloves competition. She founded the YouTube Channel The Writer’s Inn to educate and empower fellow writers to best realize their potential. She has worked in the publishing industry, and mostly recently as a Writer’s Room Intern for CBS Blue Bloods.

Melanie served in the Marine Corps as a Levantine-Arabic Linguist and Intelligence analyst. She holds an Associates in Arabic Language and Culture from the Defense Language Institute, Presidio of Monterey. She was stationed at Camp LeJeune, NC and deployed with SPMAGTF CR-AF 18.1.

She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in English from Fordham University, where she worked as a student veteran advocate. While on the Student Veteran Leadership Team at Fordham, Melanie worked on a variety of events and services for the over five hundred members of the Fordham student-veteran community, including informational and networking panels, soirees, job fairs, tail-gates, town halls, parades, and post-lockdown outreach. She attended the Student Veterans of America National Convention for professional development in both 2019, and 2020. As a member of the English community at Fordham, Melanie planned a well-received speeding-dating and networking gala, for students to engage with industry professionals in an assortment of creative fields. She hosted the 2019 English Department High Tea Gala at the Bronx Botanical Garden. Melanie also ran two virtual workshops for students during the initial pandemic lockdown, which facilitated continued community building. 

 

She is a member of Veterans in Media and Entertainment, Rotary Club District 7255, and a proud FourBlock Alumna. â€‹She is a former Rotary Youth Exchange Student where she spent a year in Nara, Japan for school.
