On Saturday September 23rd, Paramount Global’s Chief Veteran Officer, Richard M. Jones attended the Syracuse University Office of Military and Veteran Affairs (OVMA) Stars and Stripes Tailgate. Paramount Veterans Network members Jim Garrisi (Army Veteran) and Jean Castilla (Air Force Veteran) were also in attendance.

For the first time in seven years Syracuse and Army played each other with Syracuse coming out on top 29-16. It was a great atmosphere and Army veteran, Dr. Nick Armstrong, was honored during half-time as the OVMA Hometown Hero Award recipient. Go Orange!

What an incredible matchup after seven long years—Syracuse and Army truly delivered a memorable game. The energy in the stadium was electric, especially during the heartfelt halftime moment honoring Army veteran Dr. Nick Armstrong with the OVMA Hometown Hero Award. Moments like these remind us why sports bring communities together. Even while catching up on primary homework help, I had to pause and appreciate that proud “Go Orange!” feeling.
