New York Stock Exchange Visit

On June 28, 2019, CBS Veterans Network and CBS employees who support the group visited the New York Stock Exchange.  The morning started with a brief history of the NYSE given by Joe Tama during a breakfast in the Alexander Hamilton meeting room. The event continued with a building tour given by Tama, and the witnessing of the opening bell at 9:30 a.m. to mark the start of the day’s trading session.

“Thrilled to have been given an chance to tour living history at the NYSE with my fellow CBS colleagues.  It was my first time, and I would recommend it to anyone.  Hearing the opening bell was quite a bucket list type experience I won’t soon forget.  Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and shared some great stories and fielded all of our questions.” – Mike Pannacciulli, Vice President for Advanced Services, CBS Television Distribution and CBS Veterans Network member

"It was fascinating to experience such an important part of American history by visiting the New York Stock Exchange with the CBS Veterans Network. To see the Big Board up close and walk the trading floor was truly surreal and an event we will always remember." – Shannon Guarascio, Manager for CBS Affiliate Relations and CBS Veterans Network member

“The visit to the NYSE with the CBS Veterans Network allowed me to gain a greater understanding of the history and progress of the NYSE. I had the opportunity to meet members of the CBS community and other veterans in the energetic center of the trading floor. Thank you to CBS and the Veterans Network for this event.” – Jamshaid Khan, Army Veteran and an Intern for IT at CBS Network

“As a native New Yorker, the New York Stock Exchange is a local treasure. Having the opportunity to tour this global financial hub alongside veteran employees and interns who served our country was a powerful experience” – Kydee Williams, Manager, Diversity & Inclusion, CBS Corporation

“Happy we can coordinate this event yearly for our Veteran Interns and CBS employees. Learning about the history of the NYSE is always a treat!” – Betty Diaz, CBS Veterans Network, East Coast Director
