For this year's September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance, Paramount VetNet joins Paramount Global & 9/11 Day for meal packing on the USS Intrepid in New York City. To help combat hunger in America, thousands of volunteers from nearly a dozen cities around the country will help pack as many as 2.5 million healthy, non-perishable meals. All meals will be donated to and distributed by local Feeding America affiliated food banks.
“It was humbling to play a small role in combating hunger in the US and inspiring to see the Intrepid filled with individuals ready to answer the call of service and remembrance for September 11” -Chris Barrett, US Marine Corps Veteran
“It was such an extraordinary experience to be part of a larger mission that impacts our nation. In just two hours we were able to pack at least 150k meals! Proud of our service to impact change” -Ricky Enrique, US Navy Veteran
About 9/11 Day:
9/11 Day is the nonprofit that founded and annually organizes the federally-recognized September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance (“9/11 Day”). Their mission is to inspire Americans and others to rekindle the remarkable spirit of unity and compassion that arose in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, and to perform good deeds and other acts of service in tribute to those killed and injured, rescue and recovery personnel, and those who bravely rose in service in response to the attacks. It’s their way of keeping the promise to “Never Forget.” Check out highlights from the event HERE and follow Paramount VetNet on Instagram.
