ViacomCBS Veterans Network and members from the ViacomCBS talent acquisition team participated in Tom Murphy’s virtual Edge4Vets program, run through the Human Resiliency Institute at Fordham. The program was held over the course of two days, April 9th and April 23rd. Over 80 veterans attended both events in which employers shared about their company mission, culture, and even mentored veterans by helping them translate their skills from military to corporate terminology. The events were attended by ViacomCBS Veterans Network Director of Programs and Operations, Betty Diaz, and Talent Acquisition Manager, Kelsey Auyeung, among others.
“It was motivating to see veterans receive the knowledge and perspective on how to succeed on their transition to the civilian world,” Kelsey Auyeung said. “I look forward to mentoring any veterans who are looking to transition into the media space.”
The Edge4Vets programs has been highly effective in placing veterans in entry level positions in a variety of industries. ViacomCBS Veterans Network is a proud partner of Edge4Vets. “I’m glad we could help out and represent ViacomCBS,” said Melanie Corinne, ViacomCBS VetNet Social Media Strategist. “As a Marine veteran who recently transitioned, and as an Alumna who went through the Edge4Vets program herself, I know firsthand how powerful good mentorship can be.”
