Let’s Draw: NICE x TAPS x Paramount Veterans Network

Updated: Oct 7, 2022

This Summer, the Nickelodeon Community Engagement team approached VetNet with an opportunity to engage in a longstanding event named Let’s Draw, an event where they show children how to draw Nickelodeon characters. This time they wanted to engage the military community. We co-created the opportunity for Tragedy Assistance Program For Survivors (TAPS). TAPS provides compassionate care to all those grieving the death of a military loved one through peer-based emotional support, grief seminars for adults, camps for children, and case work assistance.

With this event we engaged with our VetNet Ambassador and Paramount+ SEAL TEAM's Toni Trucks who serves as an honorary TAPS board member and made special remarks during the event. We held breakout rooms in order to create an intimate session where the artists can engage with the children in a smaller setting. Another highlight of the event was airing a short episode of SpongeBob to get the children excited.

“This was a very special event. To see all of the smiles on the children’s faces was heartwarming. They were so proud to draw their favorite Nickelodeon characters. Look out Nickelodeon, we see future Artists in your crew line up! We look forward to collaborating with NICE and TAPS again soon”, said Betty Diaz, Paramount Veterans Network
